Cafe Mutsi, nestled in the heart of Andes, is an all-day cafe that evolves into a natural wine bar on select evenings.
Cafe Mutsi’s cuisine is inspired by the bounty & community of Upstate, focusing on highlighting local delights from our local farmers, purveyors, and makers. Our ever-changing menu is a love letter to the seasons, often inspired by our Nordic heritage. Nothing makes us happier than seeing familiar ingredients spark joy in new ways, and to be a part of your daily nourishment and happiness.
Join us in our cozy cafe for any occasion: a freshly brewed espresso to begin the day, a slowly savored pastry in our sunlit dining room, a book enjoyed over lunch with a glass of natural wine, to celebrate each other through the seasons over a lingering dinner.

the wife-and-husband team &
co-founders of Cafe Mutsi.
We opened the doors of Cafe Mutsi in the late spring of 2024 in the charming town of Andes. In a way, we’ve been preparing for Cafe Mutsi for our whole lives: our daily baked breads and pastries are adapted from handwritten recipes from Nicole’s grandmother, and our house-made harissa is Raoul’s mom’s secret recipe; the couscous his grandma’s.
Through Cafe Mutsi, we’re dedicated to showcasing culinary creativity with the best of local, seasonal produce: curing our own gravlax with local gin, pairing our fresh-baked rye bread with local cheeses, pickling and roasting the best of local vegetables straight from our farmers. All in the warm, cozy atmosphere and hospitality of Cafe Mutsi.
Whether it’s a flour-dusted wave from our open kitchen, pouring you a espresso from behind our coffee bar or a glass of natural wine to transport you to another corner of the world, we’ll be here in ours to welcome you in. We can’t wait to meet you!
